Shipping to the U.S.: Completing and adjusting the entry summary

Once U.S. Customs releases your shipment you have just 10 days to prepare your entry summary and submit it in order for your goods to be registered. Depending on the goods, you will need to complete one of the following:

  • Informal (Consumption) entry
  • Formal (Consumption) entry
  • Temporary Importation Bond entry

If Customs finds an issue with your documentation or goods, your shipment can be rejected, in which event you may be issued the following:

  • Notice of Redelivery
  • Customs Form 28
  • Customs Form 29
