Monday, December 24, 2018 Declared as U.S. Federal Holiday

In addition to the U.S. federal holiday on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, the President has issued an Executive Order declaring Monday, December 24, 2018, as a U.S. federal holiday.  U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other Participating Government Agencies (PGAs), including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), will operate as a holiday.

For those importers paying their own Authorized Clearing House (ACH) statements:

  • Statements dated December 24, 2018, prior to the announcement of the holiday will still print on Monday, December 24, 2018, but may be paid on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, without penalty.
  • For entries transmitted after the announcement, use statement print date December 26, 2018.
  • Statement Finals will transmit on the morning of Thursday, December 27, 2018.

Absolute quota entries are expected to be put on hold due to the holiday.

There may be delays in CBP releasing shipments, especially if subject to any PGAs, which have hold authority.
