November 19, 2019 – On November 8, 2019, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced that it has launched an investigation under the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) respecting the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet originating in or exported from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.
The investigation follows a complaint filed by ArcelorMittal Dofasco G.P.
Subsequently, on November 12, 2019, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) gave notice that it has initiated an injury inquiry to determine if the alleged dumping and subsidizing of the subject goods has caused injury or retardation or is threatening to cause injury to Canadian manufacturers.

Corrosion Resistant Steel Sheet is usually classified under HS codes 7210.30.00.00, 7210.49.00.10, 7210.49.00.20, 7210.49.00.30, 7210.61.00.00, 7210.69.00.10, 7210.69.00.20, 7212.20.00.00, 7212.30.00.00, 7212.50.00.00, 7225.91.00.00, 7225.92.00.00 and 7226.99.00.10. Parties wishing to participate in the preliminary injury inquiry must file a notice of participation with the CITT on or before November 21, 2019.
