CBSA Memorandum D20-1-1 outlines the procedures for reporting goods that are exported from Canada.
Goods being exported from Canada are required by law, under Part V sections 95 to 97.2 of the Act, to be reported to the Government of Canada. Export declarations are used to ensure compliance with Canadian export control legislation and to provide the Government of Canada with export data.
An approved application is valid for two years; previously it was valid for 5 years. Exporters will need to re-apply at least 90 days before the effective expiry date in order to continue using summary reporting. Summary report numbers are unique for each participant and should not be shared with third parties as its owner is liable for any non-compliance.
