Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) advises that the My CFIA web portal will be accepting plant import permit applications and dairy export certificates through the electronic online process.
Plant Import Permits
As of May 1, 2019, that import permits issued under the Plant Protection Act can now be obtained through “My CFIA” without having to submit a hard copy of the application to CFIA. CFIA will continue to accept applications for import permits by e-mail, fax or mail.

Dairy Export Certificates
Beginning June 2019, Dairy Export Certificates will be available through My CFIA web portal. Obtaining a Dairy Export Certificates through My CFIA will significantly improve the application and issuance process. Rather than having to drive, fax, or email an application to a local CFIA office, you will be able to submit the service request, and pay for the certificate through the My CFIA portal. In addition, My CFIA users can also access the system 24/7 to track, manage, copy and reuse their application for future requests.
Beginning June 1, 2019, importers applying for an import permit under the Plant Protection Act can submit their application electronically to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, without having to submit a hard copy. To obtain your Dairy Export Certificates through My CFIA members must have a My CFIA account and a license issued under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations.
