Addressing the unique challenges of the southern border.

Conducting business across the U.S. southern border is significantly different than the northern border. You might need to work with multiple parties in the United States and Mexico, including Mexican customs brokerage, U.S. customs brokerage, warehousing, drayage, and freight forwarding. We can help you make sure all the parts are working in unison.

Finding the right third party suppliers and negotiating the correct rates is a challenge, but is key to your success in Mexico. Specialized bilingual professionals help you eliminate the need for you to negotiate, select, or manage any of your service providers on the border.

Dealing with a drayage operator that is continually late or can’t find a container is a headache no business needs. We’ll help you find reliable partners, then monitor quality and compliance so your goods get to their destinations safely without delay.

Keep processes consistent.

Your customs teams need a standardized flow of data to ensure your goods move efficiently over the border. We provide exceptional workflow tools and systems to help you ship, store, and clear your goods into and out of Mexico without added costs.

Stay up-to-date with IMMEX

Mexico’s IMMEX laws are changing. New tax laws have eliminated the value-added tax exemption for temporary imports of goods. Imported goods are now subject to VAT payment at the time of import. In addition, the VAT has increased from 11% to 16%. There are exemptions available – if you know how to find them. Livingston can help.
