Section 232 Investigation of Vanadium Initiated

June 5, 2020 – The Secretary of Commerce initiated a Section 232 investigation on imports of Vanadium.

Vanadium is a metal used in production of metal alloys and as a catalyst for chemicals across aerospace, defense, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

They will investigate whether vanadium is being imported into the U.S. in such quantities or under such circumstances as to threaten the national security.

Commerce is accepting comments on this proposed rule through July 20, 2020, in the Federal eRulemaking Portal, using docket number BIS-2020-0002.
