June 18, 2020 – International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 10 is calling for a one-day work stoppage in response to racism and police brutality. The protest is also in answer to plans of privatizing the port of Oakland which would take away essential jobs in the Bay Area.
The stoppage will last for eight hours and will affect all 29 ports on the West Coast.
