The Secretary of Communications and Transportation (SCT), Jorge Arganis Díaz Leal, appointed Rocío Bárcena Molina as general director of Development and Port Administration, replacing Luz Alicia Iturbe de Garay, and Rodrigo de la Riva as the new head of the General Directorate de Puertos, instead of Fernando Bustamante Igartúa.
The general coordinator of Ports and Merchant Marine of the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, said that the arrival of both will contribute to promoting the transformation that is intended to be achieved in the operation of the country’s ports, to fulfill the commission of the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to streamline processes, combat corruption and end impunity, according to the statement.
She pointed out that work began on the axes set by the head of the federal Executive and by the head of the SCT himself, to promote the transition process in the country’s ports. The statement also does not refer to changes in the addresses of the Integral Port Administrations (API) so far, except for API Puerto Vallarta, where the retired Admiral, Víctor Francisco Uribe Arévalo, was appointed as general director, replacing Constanza Suárez.
