{"id":29389,"date":"2015-07-27T16:46:24","date_gmt":"2015-07-27T20:46:24","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=27058"},"modified":"2015-07-27T16:46:24","modified_gmt":"2015-07-27T20:46:24","slug":"wto-close-to-eliminating-tariffs-on-200-tech-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.livingstonintl.com\/fr\/wto-close-to-eliminating-tariffs-on-200-tech-products\/","title":{"rendered":"WTO close to eliminating tariffs on 200 tech products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Negotiators from 54 World Trade Organization (WTO) members edged close to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wto.org\/english\/news_e\/news15_e\/ita_20jul15_e.htm\">agreement on an accord which would expand the Information Technology Agreement (ITA)<\/a> and eliminate tariffs on an<br \/>\nadditional list of roughly 200 products valued at about $1 trillion in annual trade. The products covered by the extension include new generation semi-conductors, global positioning system (GPS) navigation equipment and medical equipment, including magnetic resonance imaging products and ultra-sonic scanning apparatus.<\/p>\n<p>Canada is one of approximately 50 WTO members participating in the expansion of the ITA, along with the European Union, Japan, China and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The WTO negotiators will now review and finalize the technical details of the Agreement. The conclusion of the ITA expansion agreement initiative is expected to be finalized in December 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Legal text of the Ministerial Declaration on Trade in Information Technology Products and the HS classification list of products are found in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wto.org\/english\/docs_e\/legal_e\/itadec_e.htm\">Attachment A.
