On January 13 , 2021, the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) released press release 006/2021, which highlights the following information:
• To detonate economic development on the northern border and in the center of the country, the General Customs Administration, under Horacio Duarte Olivares, opened a new international transit route to Latin America to facilitate the introduction of merchandise and vehicles that drive commercial activities throughout Mexico.
• The measure will benefit transmigrants who will now be able to transit through Customs in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, as a new option for customs clearance of their merchandise, which was previously only possible in Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
• The general administrator of Customs informed that this project will generate an economic boost in national highways and will bring benefits to Mexican families in the central and southern regions of the country.
• Entities benefited from the opening of the new international transit route: Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Durango, Sinaloa, Nayarit, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, State of Mexico, CDMX, Veracruz, Yucatán, Quintana Roo, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, Tabasco, Chetumal, among others.
