May 15, 2020 – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has implemented the United States-Mexico-Canada Center to help coordinate the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) which enters into force on July 1, 2020.
The USMCA Center will serve as a central communication hub for CBP and the private sector community to ensure a smooth and efficient transition from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) to USMCA.
The USMA Center will consist of CBP’s experts on the trade provisions of USMCA. They will provide guidance to private and public sector stakeholders, as well as, coordinate and schedule outreach events, respond to training requests, develop and distribute information resources, and update CBP regulations on pending USMCA topics/issues. The Center experts will also provide clear and transparent technical guidance on USMCA’s new compliance obligations.
