On November 6th, the Secretariat of Economy (SE) published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOF), the following information:
• The investigation procedure on unfair international trade practices is declared closed, in its modality of price discrimination, and definitive countervailing duties of 1.17 dollars per kilogram are imposed on imports of aluminum discs, including definitive and temporary ones, that enter through tariff item 7616.99.10 of the TIGIE, or by any other, originating in China, regardless of the country of origin.
• Importers who, according to this Resolution, must pay the definitive compensatory fee (1.17 dollars per kilogram), will not be obliged to pay it if they verify that the country of origin of the merchandise is different from China.
• The verification of the origin of the merchandise will be done in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement that establishes the rules for determining the country of origin of imported merchandise and the provisions for its certification, for non-preferential purposes (previously Agreement by the one that establishes the norms for the determination of the country of origin of the imported goods and the provisions for their certification, in the matter of countervailing duties.)
