13 of 40 Exclusions Extended for China Section 301 List 1 Products

May 21, 2020 – The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) extended thirteen of forty Section 301 exclusions applicable to Chinese origin products appearing on List 1, Tranche 4 which were due to expire on May 14, 2020.

Originally approved on May 14, 2019, they were effective for goods entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after July 6, 2018, using exclusion Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) number 9903.88.08.

The exclusions, extended through December 30, 2020 include:

HTS

  • 8481.10.0090 – All classified there
  • 8483.50.9040 – All classified there
  • 8421.21.0000 – Filtering or purifying machinery or apparatus of a kind used for waste water treatment
  • 8421.39.8015 – Air purification equipment, electrically powered, weighing less than 36 kg
  • 8481.90.9040 – Armatures designed for use in hydraulic solenoid valves
    • Metering spools, of aluminum, designed for use in hydraulic solenoid control valves
    • Metering spools, of steel, designed for use in hydraulic solenoid control valves
    • Poles, of steel, designed for use in hydraulic solenoid control valves
    • Push pins, of steel, designed for use in hydraulic solenoid control valves
    • Retainers, of steel, designed for use in hydraulic solenoid control valves
  • 9011.10.8000 – Stereoscopic microscopes, not provided with a means for photographing the image, valued not over $500 per unit
  • 9011.90.0000 – Adapter rings, tubes and extension sleeves, stands and arm assemblies, stages and gliding tables, eyeguards and focusing racks, all the foregoing designed for use with compound optical microscopes

Twenty seven exclusions expired on May 14, 2020. Expired exclusions, when entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after this date are no longer excluded and the 25% additional Section 301 duties are due.
